FAQ:
- Do I need to see my doctor before coming to therapy? Do I need a referral? Illinois allows Direct Access for therapy so you do not need a referral. We like to have a referral but it is not necessary for most insurance plans. We will need the name of a doctor so we can let them know we are treating you.
- Do you treat dizziness/vertigo/BPPV? Yes! We are the experts in the area with our vestibular googles and specialized training.
- Do you take insurance? We accept most major insurance (Medicare, BCBS, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, TriCare West, AARP, most Medicare Advantage plans). Call for details. We can accept Humana if your plan has Out-of-Network benefits. We are happy to check for you.
- What is Pelvic Floor therapy? Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized, non-invasive physical therapy for men and women that strengthens or relaxes pelvic muscles to treat disfunction such as incontinence, chronic pain and sexual discomfort.
- How long are the sessions? Your initial exam is 50-60 min and all follow up appointments are 35-40 min.
- Can balance be trained? You can train your vestibular system just like you train other muscles. Our evaluation will test for weakness in the vestibular system so we can design a personalized balance program for you.
- How often will I need to come to therapy? Most patients come 2 times per week but it depends on your insurance and your Plan of Care.
- What are your hours? We are open M-F, 8-5.
- Do you speak Spanish? We have 2 Spanish speaking therapists.
- What can I expect at the 1st session? At the first session, we will talk about your diagnosis and walk through medical information. A variety of tests and measures will be used to formulate your Plan of Care. In most cases, we will begin treatment and give recommendations for your upcoming therapy sessions. Dress comfortably but appropriately for your given issue (leg/knee=shorts or loose pants, shoulder=tank top or loose sleeves, back=loose clothing, balance=sturdy gym shoes).
- Where are you located? We are located at 34498 N. Old Walnut Circle, Suite A, Gurnee. Old Walnut is off of Washington between Route 45 and Almond Road.
- How is your name pronounced? Fyzical is pronounced “physical”. Same pronounciation but spelled different, because we are different!
- Will I have the same therapist? You will have the same therapist every session.
- Will I work with PTA’s or technicians? You will have 1 on 1 care with a certified PT the entire time you are here. No PTA’s or PT techs.
- Is this a franchise? FYZICAL is a franchise with 600+ locations in the US. However, each location is individually owned and operated. Our owners are on site and only concerned with your progress and improvement. We have the support of HQ but make all of our decisions.
- What makes your practice different than other PT outpatient clinics? Therapists only work with one patient at a time so they can focus and concentrate on you. Our highly trained staff provides superior care. The staff is all trained in our proprietary balance program.
